The NewBrain computer has strange BERG plugs and sockets fitted and these are very difficult to find replacements for the Power, Serial, Tape and Expansion port. This is how to find a souce for these hard to find items. Thanks Klaus for finding a source for these items.
A common fault on many old NewBrain Power Supplies is a blown "Mains Filter" which is located underneath the mains transformer inside the power supply. This is a RITA Netfilter 0.1uF x2 and 2 x 4700pF. The Mains filters are across the Mains power and can explode covering all the inside of the power supply unit and external cables with an oily substance. Out of four NB Power Supplies I recently had in for repair three power supplies had damaged mains filters. Guess this is expected after over 30 years of usage. See details of where to buy replacement Mains Filters.

Shoppie: Hello all, Found my old Newbrain in my garage again. The sticker on the bottoms shows I bought it in March 1984.... The good old computer days :-) (Date: 03/04/2018 14:12)
