Newbrain value

Hi

I'm new here, as I was hoping to get some help. I have a Newbrain Model AD, which is working 99%. The last percent is that if it hasn't been used in some time it needs to warm up before it starts. The guy I got it from many years ago, said this was a common fault many Newbrain's suffer from.

My problem is that I don't know if I should keep it, or sell it to someone who would treasure it more. My question is, what is such a machine worth?

I've searched the net high and low, and can't find any information on it :-(

It included the machine Serial Number: 612618/GDS
Power supply
Cassette cabel
TV Cabel

And I have a CD with the description of how to fix that little bug it has. On that CD there's also PDF files of the Newbrain Handbook, Handbook for Disk Users and Newbrain Schematics.

What would that be worth?

With Greetings
Michael

Re: Newbrain value

Hi Michael

Yes, your problems with your NB is most likely the reset-capacitors that have dried out.
It is a common problem and NB-freaks will know how to fix it.

As to what it's worth... Well, NewBrains sold on Ebay usually goes for something between 100£ to 200£ depending on how frantic the bidding gets.

I haven't seen any real price difference on the A-model vs the AD-model, but of cause the AD-model is a bit more desired model.

The price you get will not vary despite there is mint-condition manual, cables, power-supply available. There is a lot of info on download and power supply is easily fix with the use of PC-powersupply.

Now you have more or less put this NB op for sale, so maybe someone here on the site might give you a bid.

The Buy/Swap forum is intended for this, but sadly traffic is a bit slow on this site, so be patient.

Best regards
Michael

Re: Newbrain value

Thank you for the reply. Little world this, as I see you are also from Denmark :-)

I have it up for sale on Den Blå Avis. If it doesn't sell there, I'll put it up here :-)

I might ask for to much, but here are the link to see the pictures of it:
